Active Violence Emergency Response Training (AVERT)
OVERVIEW
Active Violence Emergency Response Training (AVERT) gives students the tools and skills to understand how to recognize warning signs, react quickly in an active shooter incident, and learn how to control bleeding in life- threatening situations. AVERT is active shooter response training with the addition of techniques on how to provide emergency first aid.
GOAL
This eight-hour course is designed to build confidence and empower the student with knowledge and skills on how to prepare and address an active shooter incident. The training provides methods and skills for First Aid, escaping, evading defending, disarming and responding to an active shooter. This course will be “hands-on” and scenario-based. The course is designed for large and small civilian and public organizations. Class size is limited to a maximum of 25 students. Multiple course dates are available. Students will receive an AVERT certification upon successful completion of the AVERT course.
PRESENTER
Instructors at Controlled Response Institute are certified A.V.E.R.T. instructors. The instructor team includes both dedicated active and retired sworn law enforcement professionals, each with 30 years of experience and expertise. All CRI instructors are dedicated to providing quality confidence building instruction to their students, through both facilitated and scenario-based training.
